Wildtrackers is a team of independent consultants, who stage various vehicle projects in remote locations around the world.

Daimler Chrysler UK Dealers Incentive Trip, Chang Mai, Thailand

WHEN Wildtrackers choose a remote location they really mean remote – even the locals weren’t sure of the name of the village at the end of a 25km hill track selected by the team for a job in Thailand. Throw in a half a dozen elephants and some bamboo rafts and you’ve got the makings of another truly memorable Wildtrackers spectacular.

The March 2002 experience was an incentive trip for UK Jeep dealers and while the participants enjoyed some 5-star hospitality in Bangkok and Chaing Mai, the Wildtrackers team were busy preparing the off-road element. With the help of ex-pat Oliver Hargreave, they discovered the village of Pah Ka Lam up in the hills of northern Thailand. He was able to provide vital maps depicting some old tracks.

The six day recce resulted in a challenging route that demonstrated the convoy of 28 vehicles to the very best of their abilities – including fording a river. Wildlife is always important to the Wildtracker’s experience and there were some spectacular sight along the way. But on this occasion the team even arranged for elephants to be in the camp.

The whole event proved hugely successful and so popular that people are still raving about it.
